Adrian part of 2014 Chinn Foundation Asian Hall of Fame Class

In what will be a first of many inductions to come for Bremerton’s multiple gold medalist, Nathan Adrian will be inducted into the Robert Chinn Foundation Asian Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2014.

The HOF was founded in 2004 to “honor achievement, inspire the next generation, and build the national community of Asian Pacific Americans,” swim swam.com’s correspondent Braden Keith said on the website.

“I am thrilled to be honored by the Asian Hall of Fame,” Adrian said to Braden. “It has always been important to me to remember both sides of my cultural heritage and hopefully inspire young individuals to be the best at whatever it is they choose to do.”

The hall’s location is in Seattle. His mother, Cecelia, is of Chinese decent and was raised in Hong Kong. Adrian told Keith he will be present at the May 14th May 31st ceremony at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel.

Also being honored are Manu Tuiasosopo, former San Francisco 49ers lineman who won a Super Bowl in 1985; actress Grace Park (Hawaii Five-0, Battlestar Galactica) and Norman Y. Mineta, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Secretary of Commerce.
