Win tickets to We Wrote the Book on Connectors’ Sweet Dreams Prom at the Crocodile

My friends in We Wrote the Book on Connectors are having a bit of a party Friday night at the Crocodile. Actually, it’s not a party so much as it is a prom. Well, let’s just call it a party prom because every WE show is a party. Anyway, the good sirs of WE want you to be at their first ever Sweet Dreams Prom Night Friday. The bill features three of the finest indie pop bands in town: We Wrote the Book On Connectors, M. Bison and Tennis Pro. What do these three have in common aside from being indie-poptastic? All three have the distinction of having played an Ear Candy show at the High Dive and take from me, you want to be at this show. To enter to win a spot on the show’s guest list for you and a friend, email me with PROM in the subject line and your name in the body field. A winner will be chosen and notified Thursday.

The show has a prom theme (and perhaps the cutest concert poster ever) so everyone is encouraged to dress in their finest prom attire. All of the bands will be doing a few nostalgic prom cover songs, a photographer will be shooting prom photos and people will be able to vote for King and Queen who will be crowned later in the evening. Here’s the scoop on the show from WE’s Mike Votava:

Cool show alert!: Ear Candy’s Birthday Bash Deux: Bash Harder, March 21 @ The High Dive

Guess who is turning three in March?

That’s right, Ear Candy (a.k.a. my other blog), will mark three years in the blogosphere at its current home (it was a blogger blog for about a year before the P-I picked it up) in a couple of months. To celebrate I am throwing a birthday extravaganza concert unlike any other concert I have ever thrown.

Last year for the first Ear Candy Birthday Bash Ms Led, Sirens Sister and Speaker Speaker rocked my birthday at the High Dive. This year I’m delighted to report I have put together a show that might be a little too big for the High Dive to contain.

The lineup is still in the works, but I do have three bands confirmed and I want to spill the beans here on Spin the Black Circle before I release the complete details over on Ear Candy. So here’s the scoop:

Ear Candy’s Birthday Bash Deux: Bash Harder

Brent Amaker and the Rodeo

We Wrote the Book on Connectors

Team Gina

plus guests TBA

The High Dive

March 21, 2009

I know, what a cool show, right? And the best part is that the lineup isn’t complete yet. Expect to hear more about what is sure to be an awesome night filled with party rock, party rap and party country music when more details roll in, which should happen within the coming weeks.

Until then, mark your calendars for March 21 and prepare yourself for a night of musical debauchery at the High Dive. And watch the below videos to familiarize yourself with the wonderfulness that is Team Gina, Brent Amaker and WE (that’s shorthand for We Wrote the Book on Connectors).
