Port Orchard Sets Fall Cleanup
PORT ORCHARD
The city of Port Orchard and Waste Management Inc. will hold the city’s annual Fall Cleanup from Oct. 8 to Oct. 12.
Residents will have to pay for the disposal of large items prior to pickup. That includes “white goods” such as stoves, washers, dryers and refrigerators. Residents will pay for the disposal of the large items at City Hall, 216 Prospect St.
On their regular garbage pick-up day, residents should place the articles on the street curb with their regular garbage cans. The city’s Public Works Department will be dispatched by City Hall to collect the large times and haul them to the landfill.
There is no charge for the collection and disposal of smaller items. The garbage must be bagged or easily handled and the total volume of the collection must fit into a space 6 feet by 6 feet and 4 feet high.
Yard waste, bundled in lengths of less than 8 feet, will be hauled for free to the landfill.
No hazardous wastes, construction debris, paint cans, or car parts will be collected during Fall Clean Up.
