CK intersection missing visible centerline

The in basket: Sharrell Lee asked in early March, “Are there plans to restripe the Brownsville Highway where it meets Highway 303? The center line is totally worn away which makes this sharp corner,
created by the removal of the yield way, even more dangerous.

The in basket: Sharrell Lee asked in early March, “Are there plans to restripe the Brownsville Highway where it meets Highway 303? The center line is totally worn away which makes this sharp corner,
created by the removal of the yield way, even more dangerous.
“Currently, it is impossible,” she said, “when you exit Highway 303 or approach it from the innermost lane, to know where you are supposed to be. I’m
wondering if there were to be an accident there, as has happened in
the past, how driver fault could be found due to this.”
The out basket: Someone else noticed the same thing, because since Sharrell wrote me, the county put some bright yellow tags on the centerline at the intersection, the kind that often serve as a temporary centerline during a paving job.
” I think the flags help, but if I didn’t drive the road daily I might be a little confused by them,” she said
Doug Bear of county public works said “We placed temporary pavement markings there in response to motorists
concerns. The striping had faded there, and the raised pavement markings
(buttons) fell victim to winter road maintenance (snow plows).
“We repaint pavement markings and replace raised pavement markings
each year,” he added, so that will take the place of the yellow tags before fall.
