In Highway Work Zones, the Fine Changes, not the Speed Limit

“The two areas I drive are Highway 3 at Highway 303 (the new entrances to the highway) and Highway 305 from Bond Road to Poulsbo,” he added.
The out basket: Unless special signs are posted, such as at the Tacoma Narrows Bridge project where the speed limit is cut to 45 mph, there is no reduction during road construction from the ordinary speed limit. The fine is what changes, not the speed limit, in many cases.
Lisa Murdock of the Olympic Region of state highways says the speed limit on Highway 305 from Highway 3 to just south of the Poulsbo city limits is 40 mph, and on Highway 303, it’s 55 mph from near Clear Creek Road to near Central Valley Road.
