FRAMES ~ From The Archives 1978: Trident protests, a ferry fire, Rodeo Drive-In screen construction and more!

Alright since these old photo paper boxes that hold these negatives are a bit flimsy after all these years I have CAREFULLY popped open a box of labeled “News Negatives 3/78 to 7/78”.

But as with all these boxes of negatives, there seem to be a bunch of random other sleeves from different years thrown in there as well. So while this post is labeled 1978…yes there are a few 77’s scattered among the photos.

This round of scans includes:

• Trident protests, which seems to be quite the newsy item in the late 70’s because this box is chock full of many sleeves labeled as such. This is just the first batch, I’ll scan the others for next week’s post.
• A pair of elephants apparently either lived or just visited Port Orchard.
• There was a fire aboard a ferry
• There are many negatives labeled “Bremerton Renewal” all showing the same general area of downtown Bremerton. Might there have been an effort to revitalize Bremerton back then as well?
