UPDATE: For those
of you wondering, it appears the applicants for the new Taco
Bell project are also owners of the existing Taco Bell on
Wheaton Way.
A Taco Bell with drive-thru is planned for a vacant lot on Highway 303, south of Fairgrounds Road, according to a permit application filed with the county.
The 2,000-square-foot restaurant will be built adjacent to Starbucks, Quiznos and, most interestingly, a Taco del Mar.
(Taco Time is located on the same stretch of highway, and there’s a Taco Bell less than 2 miles south on Wheaton Way.)

This one is pretty puzzling! With a Taco del Mar next door and a Taco Time across the street, either we have a huge demand for tacos in Kitsap county or someone didn’t check out the neighborhood.
I think it will be find since all 3 have big differences which is why everyone seems to have their preference. Not sure why they don’t just remodel the one down the street though and pave the drive thru that has major potholes.
Do we know if it is by the same folks that own the restaurant in the old Lowe’s/Albertson’s parking lot? If so maybe they 1) are losing their lease if that is applicable 2) less expensive than upgrading the very old style building (outside restrooms) they are in currently 3) want to move outside the City of Bremerton. As someone else mentioned, Taco Time, Taco Del Mar and Taco Bell have very different menus and tend to draw very different customers.
Also, it is really hard to get into and out of that current location…traffic on Wheaton Way can be awful.
