Kitsap’s second pot store will also be in Port Orchard

A second recreational marijuana retailer was approved for Kitsap County last week, and it’s about 1 mile away from the county’s first marijuana shop.

The state Liquor Control Board gave the green light for a store called 420 Spot Shop to open at 1374 Lund Avenue, just off Bethel Road in Port Orchard.

The first Kitsap retailer, Crockpot (pictured above), opened near the corner of Bethel Road and Sedgwick Road last month.

We don’t have many details on 420 Spot Shop yet, beyond the address. A call to the phone number listed for the applicant was not immediately returned.

The store was not listed in a lottery held this spring to determine which applicants would be first in line for the limited number of retail licenses allowed. Owners of the 420 Spot Shop may have bought out a lottery finalist, which is allowed.

The state will license up to 10 marijuana retailers in Kitsap, including two in Bremerton and one on Bainbridge Island.

We were expecting a higher density of marijuana businesses at the south end of the county, based on the number of applicants and the results of the retail lottery. The state has now approved five recreational marijuana enterprises in Kitsap, including three marijuana grows and the two retail stores (expand the map for a detailed view).
