South Softball Wins in Extra Innings

JV call-up Charlene “Charlie” Brown had the game-winning hit against Wilson on Tuesday in Port Orchard. Until her at-bat in the ninth, she had been cheering on the varsity team from the stands. The Wolves won 7-6.

The Wolves battled back twice to take a 5-3 lead before Wilson tied the game at 5 and forced the extra innings. The Wolves improved to 8-1 in Narrows League Bridge Division play and are tied atop the standings with Wilson (8-1).

Baseball

—Bainbridge’s JJ Willford went 3-for-3 with four RBI in an 11-4 loss to West Seattle.

Zane Minder hit a 3-run home run as NK beat Sequim 13-9.

—Klahowya’s Nick Torento‘s two-run double beat Oly 2-1.

Soccer

Chad Trask‘s goal in OT gave Kingston the win over Sequim, which lost for the first time.

—Two goals each by Nick Riders and Jonathan Ryder gave Bremerton a come-from-behind win over Oly, 6-2.

—Freshman Erin Kenney drove in three runs as Bainbridge pounded West Seattle 11-2.

Demiree Briones threw a no-hitter for Sequim in an 18-0 win over NK.
