A Utah high school football coach took a pretty strong stand following a recent loss.
Because of some off-field concerns, he suspended every player on his team and told them they’d have to earn their uniforms. Instead of practicing they’ve been performing community service.
Four track and field coaches at an Indiana high school were asked to resign because they ordered kids to do bear crawls on an asphalt track after missing a practice. Some of the kids evidently got blisters on their hands. What do you think? Here’s the AP report.
Bloomington South beat Arlington 107-2 in a girls basketball game Tuesday in Indianapolis.
Do you think the coach of the winning team should be reprimanded?
The email that delivered the following swimming results finally found its way in to The Sun’s in box. Where it’s been is a mighty mystery. Cyberspace can be a funny place.
CK coach Mike Thorniley sent it Dec. 4, the night of the meet.
And he sent it again … and again.
Finally, it popped in this morning (Dec. 11, 8:06 a.m. to be exact)

Sequim outside hitter Haleigh Harrison, the MVP of the Olympic League, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Western Washington.
Harrison led the Wolves to a 20-3 record, league and West
Central District titles, and a trip to the Class 2A state tourney.
She was also a first-team all-league choice as a sophomore and
junior, earned all-league honors in basketball and set school
track records in the high jump (5-5) and triple jump (34-10).
“Haleigh is a high-flying, hard-hitting athlete, and the emphasis
is on the athlete,” said WWU coach Diane Flick in a press release.
“She converted from the middle to the outside and brought with her
an ability to handle the ball and terminate at the pins.”
WWU (23-3) is competing in the NCAA Division II West Regional this week after winning the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title.
Did you see what Tumwater did to Archbishop Murphy?
Archbishop, which ran for 521 yards in a 45-21 win over Bremerton in a Class 2A first-round state playoff game, was smacked 21-0 by Tumwater.
And Sumner, which beat Kingston 26-9, lost 42-7 to Lynden.
Yep, the Olympic League still has a ways to go to catch up to the best in the state.
Roosevelt of Seattle, which eliminated Central Kitsap in a state preliminary round game, played No. 1 Skyline tough for a half before falling 54-21 in a Class 4A quarterfinal.

In 2A football playoff news, Kingston will play Sumner in a first-round state game on Friday at Sumner’s Sunset Chev Stadium. Kickoff: 7 p.m.
Bremerton will host Archbishop Murphy in a first-round game, but the day, time and site have not been announced.
Got through my first cup of java and figured I’d take a stab at trying to figure out the first-round pairings for the state football playoffs. Turns out our good buddy at the Tacoma News Tribune, Todd (Many Hats) Milles, beat me to the punch.
Archbishop Murphy will be at Bremerton, as we reported, in a game that will probably be played at Silverdale Stadium on Friday or Saturday.
Kingston is at Sumner, as we reported.
And if Central Kitsap beats Roosevelt Saturday night (check out the live streaming at kitsapsun.com/football), the Cougars will head across the Sound to play Tahoma or Jackson.
Here’s a look at how it’s shaping up state-wide for the top three classification. Thanks Todd.

Shadle’s second penalty came after he jumped up and signaled first down after a carry.
