District boys basketball: West Sound teams

Here’s the schedule for West Sound boys basketball teams starting in district tournament play this week.

Class 4A West Central District

Who: South Kitsap (8-11) vs. Puyallup (17-6)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Puyallup HS

Outlook: SK took fourth in the Narrows 4A and are led by Eastern Washington signee Eric Wattree, who averages 24.5 ppg. … Puyallup tied for second in SPSL 4A South Division. … There are six regionals berths available out of this tournament.

Class 2A West Central District

Who: North Kitsap (17-4) vs. Washington (8-12)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m. at North Kitsap HS

Outlook: NK tied with Olympic for the Olympic League 2A title, then earned the No. 1 seed to district after beating the Trojans in a tie-breaker Saturday. Cole Rabedeaux leads the Vikings at 22 ppg. … Washington took fifth in the SPSL 2A. … There are six regional berths available out of this tournament.

Who: Olympic (14-7) vs. Clover Park (13-7)

When: Wednesday, 6 p.m. at Olympic HS

Outlook: Olympic, the No. 2 from the OL 2A, had a 10-game winning streak snapped on Saturday against North Kitsap. The Trojans lost to Clover Park the last two regular seasons, but beat CP in the district tournament last year during its run to state (Oly placed 6th). … Clover Park placed fourth in the SPSL.

Who: Bremerton (10-9) vs. Renton (11-10)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Renton HS

Outlook: Bremerton, which took third in the OL 2A, last made it to regionals in 2014. … Renton finished tied for third in the Seamount League.

Who: Port Angeles (10-10) vs. Steilacoom (14-6)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Steilacoom HS

Outlook: PA beat Kingston in its final regular season game to take fourth in the OL 2A. … Steilacoom placed second in the SPSL.

Who: Kingston (10-10) vs. River Ridge (18-1)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m. at River Ridge HS

Outlook: Kingston lost four of its last five OL 2A games to place fifth. … River Ridge is ranked No. 1 in the AP state pool for 2A.

Class 1A West Central District

Who: Port Townsend (9-11) vs. Seattle Christian (10-10)

When: Saturday, 7 p.m. at Port Townsend HS

Outlook: PT tied Chimacum for a co-Olympic League 1A title. Chimacum (9-11) earned the top seed and opens district play next Tuesday. …Seattle Christian was third in the Nisqually League.

Class 1B Tri-District

Who: Chief Kitsap (7-4) vs. Mount Vernon Christian (10-12)

When: Thursday, 6:45 p.m. at Mount Vernon Christian

Outlook: Chief Kitsap made the playoffs in its second season in existence. … Mount Vernon
Christian took fourth in the Northwest League.

Who: Crosspoint (9-10) vs. Lummi Nation (14-6)

When: Thursday, 7:30 p.m. at Crosspoint

Outlook: Crosspoint took fourth in the Sea-Tac League. Jared Cattell leads the Warriors at 23 ppg. … Lummi Nation tied for second in the Northwest League.
