Football: Where were the points in Week 2?

High school football official and Bremerton resident Rob Shauger said in his 21 years as a referee, he had never been involved in an overtime game.

His first was Friday in Klahowya’s 7-0 in over Bremerton which was scoreless at the end of four quarters.

“Crazy,” Shauger said.

Klahowya and Bremerton weren’t the only ones struggling to score points Friday. Central didn’t score in the Battle of Bucklin Hill against Olympic, losing 29-0. Kingston lost to Archbishop Murphy 38-0. North Kitsap lost at home 10-3 against W.F. West in a meeting between two ranked teams. South Kitsap managed just a field goal in a 45-3 road loss against Peninsula.

Points could be easier to come by in Week 3 as teams begin league play. Port Townsend, which has posted consecutive shutouts against Port Angeles and Bellevue Christian, faces Klahowya at Silverdale Stadium on Friday.
