Byers selected for All-State football game

Kingston’s Sam Byers earned a spot in the Earl Barden East-West Classic, an All-State football game for players in the 2A/1A/2B classifications.
The 4A and 3A schools play in the annual East-West All-State game.
Three Olympic League players were selected. Olympic League co-MVPs Keenan Walker of Port Angeles and Frank Catelli of Sequim were also selected.
Byers, who will play at Air Force, was the offensive MVP. He played quarterback and safety. He was selected for the game as a tight end and defensive end. He’ll play tight end in college.
The game is at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima on June 23 at 1 p.m.
