Norm Dicks to Host Health Care Town Halls

Just got this from Norm Dicks’ office:

Congressman Norm Dicks has scheduled two Town Hall Meetings on Aug. 31st to discuss Health Care Reform and other national and local matters of concern to residents of the 6th Congressional District. These sessions will offer an opportunity for constituents to express opinions about issues on the congressional agenda, helping Norm to do his job as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The first meeting will be held at Fort Worden State Park in the Commons, Building 210 [http://www.parks.wa.gov/fortworden/conferences/default.aspx?subject=BuildingDescriptions#commons] from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday August 31st.

Later that day, Norm will be hosting a similar Town Hall Meeting in the Puget Sound Ballroom of the Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton [http://www.kitsapconferencecenter.com/] from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
These Town Hall Meetings are open to all residents of the 6th Congressional District.

  1. I’ve written to my elected representatives concerning this health care reform package and Congressman Norm Dicks was the only one to answer.

  2. I’m glad the congressman changed his mind. Of course, we the people, helped him “change his mind”. Your phone calls, emails and letters sent a clear message!
Remember when Rep. Dicks said earlier this month at a Rotary Club meeting that, “this is my town hall meeting”. Not so fast Rep. Dicks!

  3. I too am glad that Norm has seen the light WRT a Townhall Meeting about Health Care Reform. I think that reform is needed, but NOT something that will result in a National Health Care system ala Canada or Great Britain. Lets clean up Medicare & Medicaid by eliminating fraud & abuse, making it more user frienly to the medical community, and extending these options to cover those unisured. Lets also push tort reform to discourage ambulance chasing lawyers from from frivolous lawsuits aimed at doctors and other care providers that result in exorbitant malpractice insurance rates and associated high medical care costs. Finally, lets stop the free access to our health care facilities by illeagal aliens (better yet, lets stop the easy entrance to the USA by illeagal aliens!).
