Updated: Is There a Conspiracy in Name That McLegislator?

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you can see both photos, look at the top one and make your guess before looking at the second one, which has the answer.

Here’s to hoping that headline isn’t a McCopyright McViolation.

At Wednesday’s Central Kitsap Community Council meeting, three legislators discussed the upcoming Legislature with the group. Representing the 23rd District was state Rep. Christine Rolfes, D-Bainbridge Island. From the 26th was incoming Republican Jan Angel from South Kitsap. From the 35th was state Rep. Kathy Haigh, D-Shelton.

The meeting included refreshments, cookies and water. The cups, as you can see, were from McDonald’s. I leave it to you to decide which representative was represented by Grimace, which by Ronald McDonald and which by the Hamburglar. The answer is below.

In the meantime, the Onion reported in 2002 on another character, one that was discontinued.

From the meeting itself, the three electeds discussed what we might see in the upcoming legislative session. Aside from the process changes that should result in more collaboration, according to Haigh, ferries and higher ed will get special attention from Kitsap legislators this session the trio said.

Jan Angel goes with the Hamburglar.
Christine Rolfes drinks from the Ronald McDonald cup.
Kathy Haigh chooses Grimace.

UPDATE: Alert reader Tom brings up a good point. I assumed they had picked their own cups. But maybe, just maybe, those cups were handed to them. If so, there’s all the more reason to be conspiratorial.

Was there a message sent by someone appearing helpful dressed in the guise of a drink provider? Was that genius of subliminal selling calling Angel a thief? Rolfes a clown? Haigh a . . . What is Grimace, anyway?

  1. Steve,
Unless they got to freely pick which cup they wanted, the position of Pluto’s moon would be more significant. Maybe I should have said the moon of Pluto.

What’s next, a picture of the Obama girls doing their chores in blue or red socks? LOL

    .

  2. Actually, Tom, I assumed they had picked their own cups. You are right to question whether those cups were handed to them.

If so, was there a message by the seemingly innocent drink provider? Is someone calling Angel a thief? Rolfes a clown? Haigh a . . . What is Grimace, anyway?
