Eickmeyer’s Daughter Dies

Sara Eickmeyer Lewis of Belfair
Jan. 20, 1959 – Jan. 23, 2008

Sara Elizabeth Eickmeyer Lewis, 49, of Belfair died at her home on Jan. 23 after a long battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 20, 1959 in Pasco to William Eickmeyer and Joan Daniels. She grew up in the Belfair area and spent several years in Bird Creek, AK, eventually returning to Belfair. She married Robert Lewis in April 1998.

Sara enjoyed music, reading, classic movies, organic gardening, community causes and hard work. She truly loved being with her friends. Sara’s passion was glass fusing, and she became a respected and accomplished artist. Most notably, she did the fused-glass windows and furniture in the North Mason United Methodist Church.

Sara touched so many hearts and will be truly missed by us all. Sara is survived by her husband, Robert Lewis; her father, State Representative William Eickmeyer; her mother, Alaska pioneer Joan Daniels; sister, Mary Eickmeyer, brothers, Ezra and Johan Eickmeyer; her children, Lupine Orlob, Nathan Johnson, Matanya Smith and Ali Lewis; and her
grandchildren, Nala and Kohyn.
