One of the unexpected perks of taking over writing about education for the Sun has been finding ways to write about food (not a lot, but any bit excites me). A couple weeks ago, I covered the Taste of Washington event at a local school
And now, I’ll briefly tell you about another school related food item that I sorely wish I could attend. South Kitsap School District has a few community education classes, one of which involves that little slice of Port Orchard foodie heaven Cosmos Ristorante & Delicatessen.

Cost is $30 per person.
The menu is made and the tables are set for a fun night of cooking
inspired by “easy Italian entertaining.” The owners from
Cosmo’s Ristorante & Delicatessen of Port Orchard are excited to
share their passion for good food and interesting flavors with you
in this hands-on cooking class. Learn how to make 2 delicious
dishes, Handmade Butternut Squash Gnocchi and Pumpkin Spice
Panacotta. Both recipes are easy to prepare and are excellent
dishes for entertaining. Ages: 18 & Up.
Deadline to sign up for this class is Friday, October 15.
