Steve Reinmuth, the state Department of Transportation’s chief
of staff, has resigned to take a position with Labor and
Industries. Reinmuth has been the agency’s No. 2 man for 7 1/2
years. He follows Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond, who new
governor Jay Inslee replaced March 8 with Lynn Peterson, an Oregon
transportation planner.
Before landing at DOT, Reinmuth was an attorney with the Attorney
General’s Office for 17 years, the last five representing DOT. Then
he worked a year for a private law firm. His last day at DOT will
be April 15.
At L&I, Reinmuth will chief operating officer for insurance
services.
