Police blotter: Short on detail, for now

The Bainbridge Island Police Department has a new policy of withholding narrative descriptions from incident reports made available to the press. This means the week’s blotter has far fewer details than the blotters of years past. Mar. 27
Theft: A half-cord of firewood was stolen from a Day Road home during the night.

Mar. 26
Theft: A vehicle parked on Adas Will Lane was broken into during the night. Police did not disclose the missing items.

Mar. 24
Vandalized: A vehicle was vandalized on Crystal Springs Drive. Police did not disclose details about the damages.

Mar. 22
Drunken driving: A 33-year-old Poulsbo man was arrested for drunken driving near the Day Road-Highway 305 intersection just after 11 p.m.

Drunken driving: A 22-year-old Bainbridge man was arrested for drunken driving near the Olympic Drive-Winslow Way intersection just after 11:15 p.m.

Slashed: A parked car’s tires were slashed on Olympic Drive sometime during the day.

Mar. 18
Drunken driving: A 19-year-old Bainbridge juvenile was arrested for drunken driving and his five juvenile passengers were cited for underage drinking during a traffic stop on Madison Avenue just before 10 p.m. The passengers were aged 16, 17, 19 and two were aged 20.

Mar. 15
Disorderly: A 48-year-old Bainbridge man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he struck a state ferry with a metal pipe at 2 p.m. He had undisclosed outstanding warrants. He was taken to the county jail in Port Orchard.

Mar. 14
Crash: A Bremerton woman struck a light pole when her car veered off Highway 305 just before noon. She had taken “numerous” medications before driving. Her car suffered front-end damage. She complained of neck pain but was not hospitalized.
