Robbery at the Bainbridge McDonald’s

Bainbridge police officers are searching for a man alleged to have robbed a McDonald’s employee Saturday night in the parking lot of the restaurant at 601 High School Road.

The employee told the police she was walking out to her car when the suspect came up behind her and demanded her purse, indicating he had a gun. He grabbed the purse and ran off southbound out of the lot.

The woman described the suspect as about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with dark skin and dark curly hair. He wore a dark jacket and jeans, she said.

“She was absolutely terrified,” Bainbridge Police Chief Jon Fehlman said.

Officers searched a wide area with dogs but came up empty-handed, Fehlman said. The Suquamish Tribal Police Department, Poulsbo Police Department and Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office were alerted and also assisted with the search.

The BIPD has notified Washington State Ferry officials and the Seattle Police Department to be on the lookout for the suspect.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call Det. Christian Hemion at (206) 842-5211.
