“Art,” the new comedic play at
Bainbridge Performing Art, “challenges our conceptions about the
form, the function and the very meaning of art,” writes Sun
entertainment reporter Michael C. Moore.
Sounds like a laugh riot,
right? Ok, well here’s what director Kate Carruthers has to say
about the play:
“You’re seeing the destruction of these three men’s friendship. There’s nothing funny about that.”
Yet, audiences laugh as the play’s three characters argue over the meaning of one work of art, despite the fact that the playwright, Yazmina Reza, considered “Art” a tragedy.
“Art” opens for a two-week run on April 10. Click here to read Moore’s story.
