Bainbridge a paradise for gas evaders

Bainbridge Island ranked high in Money magazine’s top ten best places to “ride out a gas crunch.”

The island earned the number six spot among cities and towns where commutes are short and require little fuel.

According to Money, about 12 percent of islanders work from home (a commute requiring little more than sturdy slippers) and many of the rest glide to their cubicles aboard a state ferry.

“And with scenic water views, a good school district and plenty of green space, Bainbridge Island is certainly a comfortable spot in which to set up a home workspace,” the Money article concludes.
