Burglars arrested

Remember the Agate Street burglary (the one where they stole a BMW out of the garage) described in this week’s blotter? Well, the Bainbridge police nabbed the burglars. Read the story below.

Two men were arrested Sunday for their role in an Agate Street home burglary. Taken were a 56-inch TV, sound system and a BMW.

The home was burglarized around April 8, police said. Detectives got a tip that a 25-year-old suspect had been driving the BMW, which was eventually found parked at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino.

Detectives developed probable cause — but did not cite further details in court documents — to get search warrants for two Bremerton-area residences, where items from the burglary were found. The TV was found at one of the homes. The tenant there said he’d bought the TV for $75 in cash from the other suspect, who is 32 years old, while promising to pay $150 later.

The 32-year-old was taken to jail on $75,000 bail and the 25-year-old on $50,000 bail. They both made preliminary appearances Monday in Kitsap County Superior Court and remain in jail.
