Adrian enjoying London post-swimming
August 7th, 2012 by Annette GriffusNow that swimming is over at the Olympics, many athletes — including Bremerton gold medalist Nathan Adrian — have hit the streets to take in the sights in Ol’ London Town as well as its nightlife.
Nathan and his family were able to get together and hang out for a day. That was in-between stopping by the NBC studio to appear on The Today Show with fellow swimmers Allison Schmitt, Rebecca Soni, Dana Vollmer, Brendan Hansen and Matt Grevers.
And for a guy who likes to fly under the radar, that has changed as well.
Nathan hit a couple hot spots with teammates and is now among the paparazzi’s favorite targets. He’s been interviewed and photographed for Us Magazine, USA Today, PopSugar.com and Socialite Life.
Even with his new-found fame, Nathan still can’t get his name spelled right. Following his gold-medal anchor leg in the 400-meter medley relay, his name plate at the post-race news conference read “Nathan Adrain.”
Ah well, at least he can enjoy his two golds and silver medals he won last week.
“I’m still riding high. It hasn’t fully set in and sometimes I get waves of it,” Adrian said in an interview with Us Magazine. ”Whether it’s looking on Twitter or CNN and seeing the Olympics in general, or seeing the medal count and knowing I had a part in that — it’s really cool.”
