How about a slice of outdoor or indoor adventure?

January 7th, 2009 by cdunagan

If you’re looking for something to do Friday night, how about joining an organized walk on Manchester beach, where knowledgeable people will be able to tell you what kind of creatures you’re seeing. The free outing is scheduled during a full moon with a low tide.

On Saturday and Sunday, Peter Donaldson offers his rare one-man show called “Salmonpeople” at Bainbridge Performing Arts Center. The performance has been described as a “homespun tapestry of character insight, good science, good humor, and astounding freehand cartography.” Tickets — $25 for adults, $10 for youth and seniors — are going fast. For information and reservations, go to Brown Paper Tickets.

The Manchester outing, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, is one in a series organized by People for Puget Sound and other partners, including Washington Sea Grant and WSU Kitsap County Cooperative Extension. The trip begins at Manchester Library.

Reserve a spot by phoning or e-mailing Daoud Miller of People for Puget Sound, (206) 382-7007, extension 217, dmiller@pugetsound.org. Participants should dress warmly, bring flashlights with extra batteries and wading boots.

For more info, download a poster about the outing (PDF 401 kb) or check Chris Henry’s blog, Speaking of South Kitsap.
