The Kitsap County Bremerton Athletic Roundtable honored Bree Schaaf, and organized a fundraiser, last night at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
I wasn’t there, so I don’t have many details. Maybe Chuck can fill us in later today.
In the meantime, here’s a bunch of Larry Steagall’s photos. (Click the photo for a link to a gallery.)

I’ll take Derek’s question, Chuck did the heavy lifting last night anyway. A good crowd was at the Golf and Country Club, most of the eight to ten tables were full, and Bree entertained her fans. She’s good like that. She answered bobsled questions for awhile — what does the brakeman do once you start, what’s in your mind at 91 mph, what do you eat, etc. — which was interesting. (I didn’t get mine in, but asked her afterward — and it turns out that the lycra capri pants Team USA wears are solely a fashion decision. Huh!)
But the point of the evening — the news here, I suppose — was the assistance the BAR gave Bree to defray the cost of her sport. In addition to a $1,000 donation from the club, an auction of Team Bree shirts, designed by her brother Tim, and a poster signed by the US Bobsled team brought in at least $500, by my napkin math. She signed photos for awhile too, with donations from those going to her cause. Not sure of the count on that, but there was a line when I left.
Pretty good event all around, lots of love for Bree and even a little for the Sun.
