MTB racing film has Northwest premier in P.O.March 26th, 2014 by tristan baurick
Won’t Back Down, a biopic of legendary mountain biker Steve Peat, has its Northwest premier in Port Orchard this Friday. See the trailer above (be warned: it contains some colorful language).
The screening is a fundraiser for the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance’s West Sound Chapter. They’ll use the money to improve trails around Kitsap County.
At 39, Peat has been racing longer than some of his competitors have been alive. He’s considered the king of downhill – a sport that throws riders down steep courses full of tree roots, rock drops and tight corners. The documentary follows his topsy-turvey career, his transition to a mountain biking mentor, and traces the history of downhill racing. Click here for a review from Vital MTB.
The film begins at 6 p.m. at the Pavilion, 701 SW Bay St., in downtown P.O. Tickets are $15. Evergreen will also hold a raffle for two bikes. Fore more information, head over here.
