Kitsap Outdoors magazine: Hidden parks, fishing for beginners and more

March 18th, 2014 by tristan baurick

OutdoorsCover The spring edition of the West Sound Guide to the Outdoors is due out on Friday.

In it, you’ll find plenty about boating, including a story by Seabury “Mr. Outdoors” Blair about kayaking in the “rainshadow” of Jefferson and Clallam counties.

If you’re thinking about starting up with a rod and reel, take a look at Terri Gleich’s story pulling apart the tangle of fishing regulations that make the sport intimidating to beginners.

Also featured in the magazine is my guide to the county’s “hidden parks.” Most of these public places lack a sign and some don’t appear on maps. That is, until now. We mapped them all so you can get out and discover some new parks this spring.
