Long Beach, Calif., pool to be closed permanently

February 9th, 2013 by Annette Griffus

In an earlier post here on The Blogstroke, I shared the story about the Pac-12 men’s swimming championships being moved to King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way next month because the city of Long Beach, Calif., closed Belmont Olympic Plaza pool due to structural issues.

Earlier this week the city determined the pool was unsafe and has decided to close the pool permanently. The good news is the city is looking at building a new pool that will meet current safety standards.

Here’s a link to the story by the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
