Nathan Adrian helps kickoff Sochi Olympics countdown

Olympic champion Nathan Adrian was in Seattle Thursday to help kickoff the one-year countdown to the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia next year.

Adrian, a Bremerton native who won two golds and a silver medal swimming at the London Games last summer, was on hand with fellow Olympians as newest Olympic sponsor, Liberty Mutual Insurance, at the Safeco Insurance office.

The insurance group has a four-year sponsorship of Team USA that includes the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Adrian has said he will train for the Brazil Games.

Adrian was joined by former Olympic champion Kerri Strug (gymnastics, 1992, 1996) and skier Patrick Deneen (2010).
