Nathan Adrian third in Austin GP prelims

Bremerton’s Nathan Adrian, the Olympic gold medalist, was the third-fastest qualifier in the 100-meter freestyle at the Austin Grand Prix Friday morning.
Adrian touched the wall in 50.33 seconds, behind top-seed Ricky Berens, 50.22, and Jimmy Feigen in 50.23.
The finals are at 4 p.m. Pacific time.
