Day Four Prelims: Nathan Adrian vs. Michael Phelps

OK, maybe it won’t really come down to Bremerton’s Adrian vs. Phelps but Nathan is swimming in a star-studded final heat this morning.

Adrian is the second fastest qualifier in the 100-meter freestyle, second only to Phelps, with a time of 49.00, a personal best for the 19-year-old. Phelps has a top qualifying time of 48.41. Also in that final heat (15 of 15) is Ian Crocker, Cullen Jones, Matt Grevers and Ben Wildman-Tobriner.

The 100 free is the first event of the day and can be seen live on the Internet.
