Replacement refs share their side of the story

Two of the NFL’s replacement refs are interviewed by Inside the NFL, a show which airs on Showtime at 6 p.m. PST on Thursday night. James Brown and Cris Collingsworth are the hosts.

One of the refs, Wayne Elliot, says the referees were instructed not to call pass interference on Hail Mary plays. Interesting, huh? Remember the final play of the Monday night game between the Packers and Seahawks?

  1. It still hurts to think about it. Instructed by who? Were they afraid of a radical call that made no sense? Or two radical calls at the same time, one making sense and one making none? It doesn’t matter anymore I guess, but maybe I can make a die-hard MMA fan out of the sports editor yet! When radical controversial calls are made in MMA, there can always be talk of a rematch, and the smack-talk takes up less paper!
