South Kitsap grad Aaron Cunningham was called up from Triple-A Tucson by the San Diego Padres on Monday.
It’s his second stint with the Padres this season. Here’s a story I wrote in May when Cunningham and the Tuscon Padres were in Tacoma.
He joins SK grads Willie Bloomquist, now the everyday shortstop for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Jason Hammel, a starting pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, in the bigs. Cunningham was hitting .329 with 9 home runs and 63 RBI at Tucson.
