Apple Cup Links
December 1st, 2010 by cstarkGregg Bell, formerly of the Associated Press and now writing for gohuskies.com, puts Jake Locker’s decision to pass on millions a year ago into pretty good perspective in this story. Gregg Bell Unleased can be found every Wednesday on the school’s web site. And Gregg would be the first to tell you there might be a leash on what he writes from time to time. In other words, don’t expect to read anything negative about the Huskies.
One of these days I’m going to count all of the stories and photos we’ve run of Jake Locker in our print editions over the last four years. I don’t think any athlete has gotten more ink. The storyline always seems to revolve around Jake, or in the past two years, around coach Steve Sarkisian. But let’s not forget Mason Foster, who’s emerged as one of the elite linebackers in the country this season. Read Tim Booth’s AP story on Foster here.
The 2010 Apple Cup is about progress, writes ESPN.com’s Ted Miller. Read his blog entry here.
WSU coach Paul Wulff has gone through tougher times off the field than he has on it. That’s the focus of this story by Scott M. Johnson of the Everett Herald. Scott’s Husky stuff also appears in the Kitsap Sun.
You got an Apple Cup prediction? Do you think WSU will bring Wulff back? Do you think Locker will still be a first-round NFL draft pick? Weigh in with a comment if you’d like.
