Pumas Down to 26: Johnson, Conrad, Dieng Gone
March 17th, 2010 by cstarkBremerton native Kyle Johnson, a midfielder, won’t be back with the Kitsap Pumas. Jeff Graham of The Sun reported the news Tuesday and the club confirmed it with its press release on Wednesday.
Mark Conrad, a forward/midfielder, won’t be back either. Nor will French native Aziz Dieng. Here’s the current roster of players who started practice today, the first formal day of training:
- Goalkeepers: Dustyn Brim, Darby Carillo, Garrett Staples
- Defenders: Mark Lee, Stephen Mohn, Taylor Hyde, Daniel Scott, Jamelle Wallace, Lamar Nagle, Jason Cascio,
- Midfielders: Matt Friesen, Nik Besagno, John Fishbauger, David Gray, Cameron Hepple, Alex Megson, Greg Miley, Thiago Silva, Kellen Wantulok
- Forwards: Tony Kerr, Stephen Phillips, Todd Wallenius, Tye Perdido, Alex Chursky, Zack Sampson, Eli Gordley, Spencer Schomaker
Look for more updates in the print and online editions from Jeff Graham, who covers the second-year Premier Development League team for The Sun. The Pumas won the Northwest Division a year ago. Their first game will be April 3 at home against the Portland Timbers. The Pumas host Gonzaga on April 10 and will play at the University of Washington on April 23 before getting in PDL play.

There are more baseball players from this county playing in colleges and professional baseball than any comparable sport.
