Radiohead. Radiohead. Radiohead.
August 20th, 2008 by travis hayI’m leaving for White River Amphitheatre in three hours to go see Radiohead and I am ridiculously stoked. In fact, over on my other blog I dedicated the entire week to Radiohead.
I’m covering the show for the P-I and I managed to score a photo pass, so hopefully I will take some decent pics and be able to post them here for all to enjoy. You can also expect a detailed review of the show to be posted here. Although I am not sure I will be able to write the review immediately after the concert for this blog.
(Note: The rest of this post is mostly babble about
the technicalities of filing two reviews for two different
publications that I face as a freelancer. Feel free to
keep reading, but I figured I would give you a heads up in case you
could care less about the fine details of my job.)
You see, technically I am on vacation at the moment. How does a music journalist spend his vacation? By going to rock shows, of course. And when I go to rock shows I tend to be working at them, so I am working while on vacation.
Since Radiohead will be work for me, I must file my review with the P-I ASAP, which means after I get out of the horrible cluster of traffic that is the White River Amphitheatre parking lot it will be around midnight or 1 a.m. and I will be up late writing my review.
Because the P-I is paying me, if I am to post a review on this blog I must write something different than what I write for the P-I because the P-I wants me to write something that other papers do not have.
So if I am to write two separate reviews that mean a lot of extra work while on vacation. What I might end up doing is posting a link to my Radiohead review I filed for the P-I on Thursday after I file it, so look for that.
Also, like I mentioned earlier, you can also expect a photo gallery if I am able to get a few decent pictures with my point-and-shoot camera. If I have the energy and the memory I will likely also post a more blog-appropriate review, as opposed to a print newspaper appropriate one, here next week.
