Kitsap Transit & Severe Weather Shelter News
November 20th, 2012 by Sally SantanaWhen the Kitsap County Dept. of Emergency Management declares that the severe weather shelter is open, they send notification to KT and they then direct the headerboard (where the bus # is) to read “SEVERE WEATHER SHELTER OPEN TONIGHT”. The shelter is at the Bremerton Foodline at 1600 12th St. in Bremerton, across from Bremerton High. It opens at 6 pm, closes at 7 am the next day. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD THAT FOLKS CAN LEARN IF THE SHELTER IS OPEN BY CHECKING OUT ANY ROUTED BUS HEADERBOARD. ***CORRECTION*** I’m told there wasn’t enough room to put the word TONIGHT so folks need to know it runs ONLY FOR THE DAY THEY SEE IT, not assume it’s continual.
