Hunger Walk & Rally 4 Brem Food Banks Today @ 2 pm

November 11th, 2012 by Sally Santana

Please bring a bag or two of nonperishable food items/laundry-dish soap, diapers, etc. and join with others at the Star of the Sea Youth Center (old Canopy World) on 6th St. at 2 pm. Drop off your items in the Bremerton Foodline truck there, or carry it with you down with the group to the Norm Dicks Gov. Center, 6th St. entrance. The truck will be down there by then. Mayor Lent and others will speak briefly @ 3 pm, giving an update on the status of our food banks and the need that exists for them. Rev. Marta Schellberg will be leading the walk. A van will be available to take walkers back up the hill to the Center, if they don’t have someone picking them up at the rally. This benefits the Bremerton Foodline, The Salvation Army, and the St. Vincent de Paul food banks.
