The out basket: Somebody’s there, but the work is limited and
intermittent, says Jerry Moore, project engineer on the job. They
are waiting for the weather to improve to where they can complete
the paving. That requires temperatures not likely to drop below 40
degrees and, most importantly, no heavy rain. In March, high enough
temperatures usually accompany rain and dry periods usually see
temps in the 30s at night.
Mike Siefer wanted to know where the workers were on the Bond Road project. That’s the same phantom crew that was working on the 305 project.
Never once did I see more than a handful of workers on that 305 project, so why expect more now?
If they wanted to “get er done” they would have put a crew large enough to accomplish the work. Two years plus and 305 is still not done? I question the effort applied and the efficiency of the money spent. Why was not four times the effort made when the excuses Jerry Moore has now were not in the way?
What is going on with the new road that links 7th Ave to Forest Rock?
The road has been paved, all the marking have been painted on the road and all the signage is in place. The curbs and sidewalks are even done but the road is still closed.
It baffles me that we pay for a road to be built and then can’t use it.
