Highway 303 off-ramp changes advocated

The in basket: Dave Osborn would like to see a Yield sign and raised barrier added where southbound Highway 303 traffic exits to use Ridgetop Boulevard in Silverdale.
At present, two stop signs control left turners at the end of the ramp, leaving right turners to wonder if that means them, too.
A raised barrier would protect right turners at the end of the ramp from lane changers, he argues, and a Yield sign for right turners on the exit ramp would make it clearer they don’t have to stop.

Rickety fences along Ridgetop Boulevard

The in basket: Michael Oshel says “I have walked the Ridgetop road (near Silverdale) three times a week for the past year and have been struck by the repair/disrepair of
the fences along this road. I was wondering who is responsible for the upkeep of these fences abutting a public right of way; the property owner, the homeowner’ associations, or the county?”

Kitsap Way closure could use detour signs

The in basket: Jan Bogle has a suggestion regarding the closure of Kitsap Way where a bridge washed out Dec. 3 north of Kitsap Lake.
“Almost daily, when I
enter Chico Way, there are vehicles that have ignored the ‘Road
Closed’ sign at Kitsap Lake Junction and proceeded down Chico Way,
only to find out that they have to turn around and find a different
route.
She suggests a “Detour to Chico/Silverdale” sign, with an arrow pointing to Northlake Way.

Have you tried the new Callahan off-ramp in Bremerton?

The in basket: It appears to me that the city of Bremerton needs a hand in acquainting drivers with the new $662,200 Callahan off-ramp from southbound Wheaton Way just before one gets to the Warren Avenue Bridge.
It was largely financed by the state Transportation Improvement Board as a way to take pressure off the signalized left turn lane on southbound Wheaton Way at Sheridan Road.
But it’s largely unused.
