Miller Bay Road construction barrels pose question

The in basket: Madalyn Larsen says in an e-mail, “Besides all the lights installed and new culvert for salmon, there
is another project going on between Indianola Road and Highway 104.
They have put in wide shoulders and lined the whole thing with reflective barrels, moved out a trailer that had been there for years, put up a fence, and there is not one clue as to what they are doing with that area. Can you please find out for us?”

The out basket: Doug Bear of Kitsap County Public Works has the answer. “That is the entrance to the future Heritage Park,” he said. “We ‘buttoned up’ the project until better weather. It will be finished in the spring. There were ‘clues’ as to what was done there on the Road Report while the project was active. It will appear there again when we start working the project in the spring.”
The county is happy to e-mail anyone a copy of the Road Report, which comes out on Fridays and previews the next week’s work. They prefer that people sign up online at www.kitsapgov.com/pw/roadwork.htm, but the county Open Line at 337-5777 also can sign you up. It’s also viewable on the county Web site (www.kitsapgov.com/) on the Public Works page.
