About whether traffic avoiding tolls on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge is adding to Belfair congestion, subject of the Nov, 9 Road Warrior, Claudia Cornish of the state bridge office says new traffic counts in Belfair have since been completed. “We found that there is less than a 1 percent increase in traffic volumes on SR 3, and that slight increase is primarily seen on Saturdays and Sundays,” she said.
And Vietnam War hero Bruce Crandall of Manchester, got a copy of the July 27 column discussing whether a street or road should be named after him. Bruce wrote, “First, I wish you to know that I would consider this a great honor. Having said that, I would also consider it an unnecessary burden to people who live on such a street, having to change all of their addresses etc. It would also seem unfair to whoever the street was named for originally. 1. With the caring attitude that Bruce Crandall shows, it is no surprise that he is a war hero.

A new, previously un-named road needs the honor of caring his name.

  2. “…Vietnam War hero Bruce Crandall of Manchester…”
Based on his response, it seems to me this man deserves to have a new, unnamed road named after him when one becomes available.
