Bucklin Hill Right-Turn Lane Set for 2007

The in basket: Randy Peterson of Silverdale would like to see a right turn lane added to eastbound Bucklin HIll at Tracyton Boulevard.
“Although adding a lane would take quite a bit of fill,” he said, “it would significantly
improve the flow of traffic through that intersection. Traffic now backs up all
the way down past the next light at times – and a great deal of that
traffic is waiting to to get onto Tracyton .
Is this included in the County’s plans? Or can it be?

The out basket: Jon Brand, assistant director for roads in Kitsap County Public Works, says “A right turn drop lane from eastbound Bucklin to
southbound Tracyton Boulevard is on our Transportation
Improvement Plan. Design of the project is scheduled to be completed
this year with construction in summer of 2007. The current estimated
cost of the project is $846,000.
“There will be challenges with utilities, right-of-way acquisition and
(a) retaining wall but they are surmountable.”
