Pumas settle lawsuit with Bremerton School District

I’m still trying to get a couple things confirmed, but this much is sure: the Pumas settled their lawsuit against the Bremerton School District out of court last month.

The Pumas brought a lawsuit against BSD in April in a squabble over a six-figure credit the club believed it was due after its initial three-year contract with BSD expired in 2011.

I spoke with Kitsap owner Robin Waite earlier this week and he said the club and BSD parted amicably and that the Pumas will retain ownership of 14 bleachers that were used at Bremerton Memorial Stadium the past four seasons. The value of the bleachers is roughly $90,000, according to Waite.

I plan on getting comment from BSD this coming week.

By settling with BSD, Waite said the Pumas will be able to move forward with plans to make Gordon Field near the Fairgrounds its home venue in forthcoming seasons. No deal with Bremerton Parks and Recreation with regards to Gordon Field has been struck yet.
