Starting goalkeeper Dustyn Brim won’t be available when the Kitsap Pumas play the Marysville Ruckus on the road Saturday at 7 p.m.
Brim is out of action after tearing the meniscus in his right knee in last Saturday’s 11-3 victory against Tumwater.
Brim said he was backpedaling and twisted to make a save when he heard a “big old pop” in his knee. He wanted to stay in the game, but was forced to leave when the knee stiffened up.
Brim, who’ll need surgery, believes he can return to action at some point in January. Marshall Reece will likely serve as the team’s starting goalkeeper during Brim’s absence.
The Pumas play two road games this month — Saturday at Marysville and Dec. 15 at South Sound — before getting a three-week break. Kitsap returns to action Jan. 5 against South Sound.
