Pumas blank Trinity Lutheran, update roster

Watched most of the Pumas’ preseason game against Trinity Lutheran on Tuesday morning at Gordon Field. Kitsap won 5-0. Enrigue Hidalgo and Felipe Heridia each had two goals, while Kyle Johnson added another. Goalkeeper duties were split by Dustyn Brim (first half) and Zac Lubin (second half).

Regarding roster news, Eder Guzman and Zack Sampson, a North Kitsap graduate, have signed, meaning 20 players are now under contract. They are listed below:

Dustyn Brim, GK
Zac Lubin, GK
Liviu Bird, GK
Taylor Hyde, D
Steven Mohn, D
Matt Friesen, MF
Kyle Johnson, D
Christopher Bettencourt, F
Pierre Rappolt, D
Daniel Macleod, MF
Daniel Fabian, CM
Sam Zipperstein, CM
Enrique Hidaldgo, MF/F
Justin Robbins, CD
Jarrett Robbins, CD
Danny Medina, D
Drew Jensen, D/MF
Ben Truax, F
Eder Guzman, MF/F
Zack Sampson, D/MF

Zipperstein and Jensen are finishing college, so aren’t with the team yet.

Among players not under contract, Ritchie said Heredia is waiting on paperwork to clear. Greg Miley is still being considering, while Chris Andre is unlikely to sign, Ritchie said. There are at least three other players who could sign, but I’ll leave them unnamed for the time being.

The Pumas will be out of town Wednesday-Friday at team camp on Whidbey Island.

“We’re gonna work on a lot of different technicals, tactical things,” Ritchie said. “It’s a chance for the boys to get away.”
