FRAMES: Photo Challenge #66: A Bug’s Life

Okay first of all, you do not have to be a digital subscriber to the Kitsap Sun to participate in this blog or the challenges.

Okay now that, that is out of the way…

Yes, we shoot this challenge every year, but hey it’s a good one and it always yields a bunch of really good photos. Plus, I’m a big fan of cool bug photos (which is pretty odd since I am not a fan of bugs/ creepy crawly things AT ALL). And also, reader Kim Demko sent me a delightful photo of a butterfly which got me thinking that it was time to revisit the bug challenge.

So your challenge, if you choose to accept it of course, is to show me your best photo under the theme of “A Bug’s Life”. While I assume most entries will be awesome up-close and personal (or macro) photos of bugs, out-of-the-box creative thinking on the theme is always encouraged.

I’m calling this a “bug” challenge but all you entomologists can simmer down, I of course am including insects and spiders under my general “bug” term here.

I ENCOURAGE you to shoot these challenges in the time frame that they are given, since the whole point of these challenges is to get people out there building on their photo skills, but I will of course begrudgingly accept photos that fit the theme that were taken earlier in the year.

Entries may be uploaded via the “Upload Kitsap Frames Photo Challenges here.” link over on the right hand side of this page or you may email them to me if you prefer : mreid@kitsapsun.com

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS JULY 1st.

YOUR REAL NAME MUST BE SOMEWHERE ON THE UPLOADED PHOTO ENTRY FORM OR IN THE EMAIL YOU SEND TO ME. I WILL NOT CREDIT PHOTOS TO HorsesRNeato ETC.

Here are a few Reader Photos from previous challenges to get you thinking:
