Here is a gorgeous sunrise shot from our freelance photographer extraordinaire (and former Sun photo editor) Steve Zugschwerdt.

Anyone else notice the “Z” formation in the clouds? It’s like some guy with the last name Zugschwerdt was destined to snap this shot.

“Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” Western Washington residents may need to heed the warning as the weekend forecast calls for colder temperatures with the possibility of snow. The photo of Mt Rainier was taken from the Victor Cut-Off road near Allyn. Low lying clouds cast shadows on the higher cloud ceiling as as the sun rises behind Washington’s iconic peak.
