VIDEO: Trains Are Cool

It fascinates me for a few reasons. One, it’s trains. For whatever reason, watching trains seems kind of therapeutic. Two, it LOOKS like miniatures, but it’s just a camera trick. Three, it’s beautifully shot. Four, it’s not actually shot using a video camera. They used HD video-capable Canon 5Ds, an SLR camera. They also used tilt-shift lenses to get the cool effect.
With the push for more video online, I won’t be surprised to see nearly all top-end digital cameras shooting HD video in the next couple years. This video certainly makes a compelling case that my next SLR will shoot video. Maybe I’ll have to buy a tilt-shift lens, too…
